“Facial massage also stimulates collagen and elastin, which act as a scaffold for firm skin,” says Inge Theron, founder of FaceGym. “Through resistance training, our muscles get stronger, toned and tightened, and we build muscle memory to create a solid foundation for the skin, which leads to less laxity.” In addition, facial exercises offer the added benefit of improving circulation and lymphatic drainage, which reduces swelling and improves overall skin condition.
In addition to the skin benefits associated with firming the skin, stretching the face also helps relieve tension. “Most of the sculpting exercises we do are specifically designed to release tension and relax the muscle nodes that shape and shape the face,” says Theron. She explains that people tend to experience tension in their jaws, which can cause sagging skin under the chin, as well as the eyes and forehead. With the right movements, you can soften deep expression lines while reducing the tension that originally created them.
“Facial exercises are designed to create movement in the facial muscles that we usually neglect in skin care, and are not activated by talking or facial expressions,” says Theron. “Like the rest of the muscles in our body, in order for these muscles to stay healthy, they need exercise.” To relax your face and make your skin firmer, follow these steps.
1. Stretching the joints
This step can be easily integrated into your daily skincare routine, and applying conventional products will make it luxurious. Simply warm the face oil in your hands and apply it to the flat areas of your joints. Then use your knuckles to spread the product over the skin, starting at the base of the neck and massaging in a circular motion with medium pressure. Move up to your cheeks, then across your forehead. “It’s great for creating warmth in your muscles, increasing blood flow and oxygenation to keep your skin glowing from the inside out,” says Theron. “It will wake up your skin, release tension and strengthen muscle memory.”
2. Spanking with fingers.
Finger whipping is another light morning exercise that has the same results as stretching your joints. “This is a cardio exercise that increases blood flow and oxygenation to firm and toned muscles,” says Theron. Place your pointer and middle finger on your dominant hand on your chin for support, then use your pointer and middle finger on your other hand to quickly and easily run across the skin, starting at the corner of your mouth and working your way up your cheeks. …
3. Thumb Slides
Try thumb slides for maximum stress relief. “They are great for relieving tension and lifting eyebrows,” says Theron. After applying the facial oil, slide your thumbs from the tip of your nose to your eyebrows, finishing in three circles at your temples. Repeat the movement three to five times, depending on your level of tension.
