Wearing sunscreen daily is one of the easiest ways to prevent skin problems such as wrinkles, discoloration and of course skin cancer. As a beauty editor, I know this and have heard dermatologists repeat it at least once a week, every week for the past seven years. But even so, I have historically been guilty of leaving home without a drop of SPF on my skin, because I could never find a product that I liked enough to actually wear every day. Luckily, I got to know Supergoop Glow Screen and it turned me into a daily sunscreen person that any dermatologist would be proud of.
This is what Glow Screen is: it doesn’t really look like sunscreen at all. It’s more like a shine enhancing primer with SPF. Unlike many other sunscreens I’ve thrown aside over the years, they don’t leave skin sticky, oily, chalky, or matte. It has a lightly tinted pearlescent finish and acts as a kind of all-night skin tone highlighter that delivers exactly the glow that its name promises. If they were to cork my Instagram transition filter (or Zoom in on my appearance filter) and sell it on the shelf, that would be it.
Supergoop! Glowscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Sunscreen
Because of how gorgeous the glowing screen looks on my skin, I would love it very much even if it is didn’t have any nourishing properties for the face. So the fact that it offers protection from pollution, blue light and, you know, the sun makes it that much better. The product is formulated with antioxidant ingredients such as sea lavender and cocoa peptides, as well as broad spectrum SPF 40, which is higher than the SPF 30 recommended by dermatists for everyday wear. Thanks to its hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5, it also has an additional moisturizing effect, which explains the moisture that persists for several hours after application.
In the last six months, there hasn’t been a single morning I missed using Glow Screen. This is the only beauty product I really can’t live without, and it makes my complexion look so even and radiant that I rarely even try to apply makeup on it. On the rare occasion when I apply foundation over top, it gives the skin a very shimmery finish – one that I love so much, I have been known to wear it overnight. It truly is a product available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and the fact that it is sunscreen is just the icing on the cake.
Any dermatologist will tell you that the best sunscreen is the one you wear every day. I just wish I had found this sooner.
